Man at Baggage Claim

During Your Trip.

Luggage

There are published numbers stating that for domestic flights, an average of 6 bags are delayed for every 1000 passengers. 99% of which are eventually returned to their owners.

Here are some tips to help reduce your chances of having your luggage delayed or mishandled at the airport. Of course nothing can guarantee the arrival of your luggage, but these tips may decrease your chances of losing it, or at the very least make it less painful to endure.

  • Personalize your bag: or make it stand out as much as possible so that no one will grab yours by mistake
  • Don't put all your eggs in one basket: try to split up your stuff between the check-in luggage and your carry on, that way if your luggage does go missing, you're not at a complete loss.
  • Develop a labeling obsession: Label everything with an email address or phone number. However try to avoid listing a home address, provide an office address instead.
  • Double check your baggage tags: Make sure that they are correctly routed to your final destination.
